Tire and Wheel Technician — Commercial Fleet Interstate Fleet Service | Full-Time | Pay Based on Experience 4 Days/Week · 10-Hour Shifts
We’re looking for an experienced Tire Technician to join our fleet maintenance team. You’ll be the go-to specialist for tire and wheel health across our entire fleet — conducting daily inspections, handling repairs in the shop, and responding to road calls when trucks go down. This is a hands-on, high-ownership role with a consistent schedule and real variety in the work.
If you have commercial tire experience and take pride in keeping equipment running safely and on time, we want to hear from you.
What You’ll Do:
Daily Fleet Inspections and Maintenance
- Inspect all in-house fleet vehicles daily for tire and wheel issues: inflation, tread wear, lug nuts, casing damage, and visible defects
- Perform tire repairs including patching, plugging, and replacement
- Rotate tires, replace wheel studs, clean and refinish rims
- Adjust toe-in alignment as needed
Road Calls:
- Respond to field service calls using the company service truck
- Repair or replace tires on stranded fleet vehicles
- Keep the service truck stocked, clean, and road-ready at all times
Inventory and Record Keeping:
- Maintain accurate tire inventory, including brands, serial numbers, and condition
- Track all tires installed and removed; brand tires for identification
- Assess pulled tires: spare, recap, or scrap
- Conduct weekly fleet surveys, photograph findings, and project tire replacement needs for the next two weeks
- Report all vehicle defects and findings to Dispatch and the Traffic Manager
Required Qualifications:
- Minimum 1 year of commercial tire experience
- Commercial Driver’s License (CDL)
- High school diploma or GED
- Basic computer skills and experience with record-keeping
- Dependable, self-motivated, and detail-oriented
Preferred:
- 2+ years of commercial fleet tire experience
- Experience with tire inventory management systems
- Familiarity with recapping processes and tire lifecycle assessment
Schedule and Pay:
- 4 days per week, 10-hour shifts
- Pay based on experience
- Full-time, year-round position
